About Prescribe Hire

PrescribeHire, formerly known as Medical Search Institute, Inc., has provided background check and applicant tracking support to businesses for more than two decades. We work across industries to support Human Resources professionals, physician recruiters and volunteer services professionals streamline the often cumbersome process of finding the right applicant.

PrescribeHire is led by Becky Venneman, CMA, SPHR, who has served as president of the company since 2007. A former member of the Iowa Society for Human Resources Council, Becky has an extensive background in Human Resources management. This expertise includes policy development and deployment, wage/salary competitive analysis, employee benefit package management, and employee relations issues. In 2003, Becky was named the Iowa SHRM Professional of the Year.

Becky has a Master of Science degree in Business Administrative Sciences and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Iowa State University. In addition to her duties at PrescribeHire, Becky has served as a lecturer at Iowa State University and a number of community colleges across Iowa.

Medical Search Institute

In 2009, Medical Search Institute, Inc. became PrescribeHire.
With the name change came an expanded selection of services to assist medical professionals in managing the hiring process – from developing recruitment strategies, to the initial application, and right through the offer of employment.

This expansion gave medical professionals an extra full-time equivalent without adding to the headcount in Human Resources. What the expansion did not do is provide an updated website and the additional online service offerings of the new PrescribeHire.com site.

As a current client, you can attest to the professionalism and timely and convenient services provided under the Medical Search Institute mantle. None of that changes as we transition to the new PrescribeHire.com platform.

In fact, with the website changes come additional enhancements, including more client resources, helpful tips, articles and links. Please take some time to review our new website, including the

It’s unfortunate that in any field there are individuals who fraudulently compose a resume, claiming to have credentials they do not possess. Some may have been legitimately credentialed at one time, but are no longer. Some exaggerate their credentials, and still others falsify their background credentials altogether.
